best to be wary. Look out for an unmarked white van on the A9 between
Balsporran Cottages and the Dalwhinnie turn off - a favourite place.

| Sports Scotland Avalanche Centre | The definitive avalanche risk guide. Essential reference in winter. | |
| Synoptic chart for next 120 hours | For the DIY weather expert who has no time for Heather (BBC) or Lara (Channel 5) | |
| West Coast Mountain Guides (Alan Kimber) also see Abacus Mountaineering for similar information | A useful update of snow and climbing conditions from an expert who was out in the white stuff yesterday! | |
| Winternet Scotland | Links to latest reports of climbing conditions, and webcams of mountain areas. Very useful, and quite current, most of the information is from Mountain Guides - mainly covers the Cairngorms. | |
